They were developed so they can be applied in the heat of summer or any time of year here in Arizona as long as the daytime temperature is above 50 degrees. The factory warranty depends on choice, but we have seen this product look good for 10 years or longer under normal conditions.

Another benefit of using the Deck Coating System for your Kool Deck Restoration is because all of the layers or parts of the system has the same acrylic binder so each part has will adhere to the next. First, it is determined if the “Kool Deck” has to be removed entirely or just spot re-establishing of the “Lace Appearance”. If more than 85% is missing then total removal is recommended.

To Repair Your Kool Deck and Re-establish Deck Surface:

Step #1:

We soak the deck with a cleaning agent and power wash to remove topical contaminates. This also removes old loose deck coatings.

Step #2:

We install the acrylic binder (mentioned above) in the pure state directly to the old surface. This soaks into old deck material and gives the necessary bonding surface.

Step #3:

We make all the spot repairs with acrylic injected material that adheres to the other layers and can be made to look similar to the existing “Kool Deck”.

Step #4:

Mask off non-coating areas.

Step #5:

Install Color Coat. There are several colors to choose from. We use factory-trained technicians with equipment that ensures total coverage and will fill unseen hairline cracks under the top flat surface of the “knockdown” in the Kool Deck.

I.R. Upgrade Coating

The system for the Upgrade is the same and has the all-important Acrylic Binder included. The Upgrade coating has an I.R. (Infrared Rejection) component to keep the deck cool much like the “Kool Deck” does though with a different technology. This can be critical because lesser deck paint destroys the cool aspect of your “Kool Deck”. Our I.R. Color coat will keep the cool feel similar to the original “Kool Deck”.

Premium-Deck Upgrade

What makes this deck superior is a final Clear Coat from WestCoat that provides durability, UV resistance and stain resistance. The standard and I.R. Color coat performs well under light to normal traffic but is not designed for heavy traffic. The clear top coat gives added protection, durability and helps keep the color coat cleaner and resists staining longer under extreme weather conditions
